Sure is hard to imagine that it’s the week before Memorial Day already, but as we head towards the unofficial start of summer, we’ll get a head start on our holiday barbeque plans, plus show politicians that they can learn a thing or two from the world of sports! Here’s a look at some of next week’s highlights:

MONDAY:

Lifelong Queensite Bob Turner talks with John Gambling about what drove him to his decision to move into the political arena and take on Congressman Anthony Weiner. Plus, last week’s stock market was more than a little stomach-churning…economist Steve Forbes joins John to talk about what happened. And, who came out on top in this weekend’s Subway Series? Len Berman takes a look back at all the Yankees-Mets action!
What critical areas determine success, happiness, and fulfillment in our lives? Renowned psychotherapist Stacy Kaiser talks with Joan Hamburg about how everything from conscientious money management to developing strong coping skills to building the right kind of friendships and intimate partnerships can help us to lead more fulfilling lives as “fully-loaded grown-ups.” Plus, get the inside scoop on the new ways to snag a restaurant reservation online!

TUESDAY:

What can politics learn from sports? Find out when former Governor and Senator George Allen talks with John Gambling this morning!
Chad Kimball and Montego Glover stop by to talk with Joan Hamburg about their roles in Broadway’s Memphis, the story of Huey Calhoun, a white radio DJ whose love of good music transcended race lines and radio airwaves back in the 1950s. Thanks in part to his passionate persistence, “race” music reaches the center of the radio dial, quickly exploding throughout mainstream America.

WEDNESDAY:

Get set for the warm days ahead as Joan Hamburg kicks off her Summer Food Hour! Today, Adam Perry Lang, a classically French-trained chef turned bona fide BBQ expert, and founder and co-owner of the nationally-acclaimed restaurant Daisy May’s BBQ, talks with Joan about how to streamline the barbeque process. With his new collection of the 25 recipes that we cook 95 percent of the time, using accessible, not too pricey, quality ingredients he will guide us through the entire process. Then Barbara Fairchild of Bon Appetit magazine shares the recipes for some perfect summer side dishes with Joan!

THURSDAY:

Governor David Paterson talks with John Gambling about the week’s top news out of Albany.
4 Troops, a music group of four U.S. combat vets who served on the front lines in Iraq and Afghanistan, stop by to talk with Joan Hamburg about their debut CD, which has just been released by Sony Music.

FRIDAY:

Andrew McCarthy, Former District Attorney in New York, talks with John Gambling about his new book: The Grand Jihad: How Islam and the Left Sabotage America. And Friday morning means it’s time for New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s weekly visit with John!
Joan Hamburg continues her weekly garden series with Jodie Bross of the Glenwild Gardens Center–as we head into summer, what will we need to think about as the temperature rises and the garden grows?
