Program Notes for the Week of October 26, 2009

No ghosts and goblins (though we do have some pumpkins), but among our highlights as we head into Halloween week on WOR…our former Mayor, our current Governor, and Headline News’ latest star!  Don’t miss a minute…here are some highlights to whet your appetite!

 MONDAY:

Ken Walsh, US News and World Report’s Chief White House Correspondent, recently sat down with President Obama to discuss leading our country during a crisis.  He’ll join Joan Hamburg to talk about how our President approached the difficult decision-making that’s been involved regarding our troops in Afghanistan.

 You’ve been given a fatal diagnosis by your doctor, and prepare for your last days.  And then you find out that diagnosis was thankfully wrong.  Suzanne Somers, actress and health advocate, sits down with Joan Hamburg and share her story of being misdiagnosed with cancer, and how her family dealt with what they thought would be her final weeks.

 TUESDAY:

Former Mayor Rudy Giuliani talks with John Gambling about his support of re-election efforts of the man who became his successor in City Hall, Mayor Michael Bloomberg!

 How can mothers help their daughters through the mysterious world of adolescent sexuality?  Evelyn Resh, a leading expert in women’s sexual health, shares some strategies with Joan Hamburg today.

 WEDNESDAY:

Joan Hamburg serves up another helping of her “Recipe of the Week” segment.  A little hint for this week’s recipe…right in time for Halloween, think pumpkins…

 THURSDAY:

Governor David Paterson joins John Gambling for a full hour to talk about the latest from Albany…and take YOUR calls!
